It opened in 1972 and in addition to the samples of fossils found in Urgup, prehistoric objects are displayed, from the Bronze Age and Hittite periods, Phrygian, Persian, Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman. There are also typical regional clothes, weapons and other items.
The museum consists of a ground floor and a basement. On the ground floor you would find the exhibition rooms for archaeological and ethnographic objects from all times, such as prehistoric pottery, figurines, lamps, statues, metal, glass and other ornaments, jewelry, manuscripts and tapestries. In the garden of the museum they show ancient works of stone and water jugs made of clay.
